The Carolyn D. Penney Kindermusik® Children's Fund was designed to provide assistance to children who are physically or emotionally challenged, who are financially or educationally disadvantaged, who have physical disabilities, or who have lost a parent.

In 2009, The Children's Fund was expanded, by three-fold, to reach even more children. In prior years, the fund awarded tuition and materials or materials-only funding for children in need. And, each year, a high number of applicant families were turned down due to insufficient funding. The fund now awards materials only funding, relying on the matching generosity of educators to provide free tuition.
